Our development

One Nation is committed to provide a "safety net" for the disadvantaged, people in temporary need and the retirees in our society.

We will introduce a National Superannuation Fund, to provide a secure and independent source of additional income, to supplement the Social Security Pension.

We will:

1.  Provide sufficient numbers of adequate shelters for the homeless.

2.  Support and protect victims of domestic violence)regardless of gender).

3.  Maintain unemployment benefits.

4.  Not tax personal savings and superannuation.

5.  Have no assets tests.

6.  Say no to death duty.

7.  Upgrade age pensions.

8.  Implement quarterly indexation of pensions,  Indexation on a "basket of goods" basis.

No country that seeks a good future can survive for long, it it spends 35% or 40% of its budget on welfare.

We need to look after the genuine cases, where people have fallen on hard times.

One Nation is intent on setting a time limit to unemployment payments.

Jobseekers are actively encouraged ot attend training as provided and or to take a job offered, or face the prospect of losing all benefits.

Skills and experiences gained will provide better prospects of finding a more challenging job.

This will also be th base from which to build self worth and self esteem.

Let us not forget the 16% percent of the population that suffers from disadvantage and poverty in Western Australia.

Our social security makes up 43% of the Federal Budjet.  Yet the safety nets that were once there for all Australian is not.

There is a 13 week wait to get unemployment benefits.  So how does one feed themselves?

Not even a days work can be now posted on the vacancy boards.  I tried to have one days work as Poll Booth attendants but the once simple way of listing in the jobs is now contracted out.

Their reply to my request was that they were only used to posting full time jobs and this was an unusual request.  Although I was promised a phone call back within 15minutes from both the offices responsible.

To this day I have not received one phone call.  Now I wonder about the man who is unemployed with a family to feed that had to wait 13 weeks to get an interview to receive unemployment benefits.

Our social security system was never meant to be this hard.

I scratched my head since we actually employed through centrelink only three months previous?

Give a dog a bone.

Why is our social security system so dumb?
